worth a 15 minute drive along the pretty coast road from Moraira. Around 4pm
daily the fleet of assorted fishing boats make their way into the port
fish auction. You may watch this from the public viewing gallery gazing down at
the familiar and strange looking catches being sold at an incredible pace to
supermarkets and restaurants. The children really enjoy this and more so the
grown ups when sitting to dine in one of the many port restaurants. With
approximately 6km of promenades to walk along and immaculately kept white sandy
beaches and beach bars, Calpe makes an excellent day out.
Elegant Spanish historic
port town. Superb street cafe lifestyle, sample Tapas under the cool lime trees
that line the main street. Here at the port, ferries collect their passengers
bound to Ibiza, Majorca and the Canaries making Denia a bustling vibrant town to
visit. When you have had lunch ,wander the narrow Spanish streets,
amazing castle set up high above the town, shop in the trendy chique boutiques
for something different, or maybe chillout on the start of
20km of white sandy
beaches ,the best beaches in
the region , travelling
just north of the port, a 5min walk from
the main street; bring your purse and swimming costume, this is definitely our
favourite place. Denia has so much to offer, a Spanish working town in a class
all of its own. Denia is famous for having the most fiestas in the world ,there
is usually something happening every weekend. 20min car drive
Javea: Quaint old
fishing port town with small marina. Lovely selection of typical Spanish
restaurants in between the narrow streets and promenade. The beach here is
pebbly ,but never the less attractive with many cafe bars. Further along the
beach you will arrive at the newer part of Javea known as the Arenal, here you
will find a perfectly manicured horseshoe shape sandy beach. Encompassing the
bay, every variety of international cuisine can be found to suit all, tastes. If
you are missing your Sunday roast or hanker after fish and chips or British food
you will not be disappointed. After dark there are some
chill-out bars and clubs overlooking the water playing relaxing
music all adding to the ambience to complete the perfect day out, in Javea. (15/20 mins drive )

The famous Moors and Christians fiestas takes places in all
towns throughout the summer with Moraira's in June. A fantastic array of
superb costumes and music from many artists make this a truly amazing event
not to be missed . A re-enactment of the Moorish invasion, storming of the
castle and the subsequent recapture with the spectacular firework display, the
Spanish perform so well. If you miss the festival in Moraira, Javea

From the mountain backdrop of Moraira ,we head up into the
Jalon valley to sample some of the
famous wines from the bodega at Jalon. A well
trodden tourist trail, but gives a wonderful insight into how all the aromatic
Spanish wine is extracted from the mountains of grapes harvested here, with of
course the opportunity to sample the aforementioned and make your purchase.
February heralds a glorious sight of pink almond blossoms,
stretching as far as the eye can see, through the valley
of Jalon, whilst being
intoxicated with the heady scent of the many orange and lemon
tree blossoms. This is a
magical and refreshing time for all residents and tourists, with snow capped
mountains on the horizon, this is a sight to beheld and definitely a time for

Inland villages to visit also include Orba, Parcent and Pego,
the lunches are traditional tapas, we recommend the menu del dia (menu of the day),
these usually give you the opportunity to sample country fayre, to include bread
, a beverage, starter and main course for a very modest sum.
For scenic driving, walking and sightseeing we recommend you visit

penetrated by invaders, keeping all it's inhabitants safe through the centuries.
Magnificently presiding over the Guadalest reservoir
with it's emerald sparkling waters below
and stunning views across the valley and yonder

foot of the castles walls . After lunch you may take a walk, we
recommend the 9km walk, around the reservoir which
is well signed, taking
between two and
two and half hours approximately. Fonts D'Agar
