however, are not
necesarily the best diets for your body and mind. Any diet must be a
substainable diet, not a quick fix.
The word diet means deprivation to
lots of us, but the truth is, the word diet means the
normal food and drink for a person or animal. A diet should mean,
you are not depriving yourself, you can not give up a certain food group
forever and this is why most diets fail, they ask you to give up food
groups, this is wrong. A healthy balanced diet is the only answer to
long term weight loss and healthy living.

Mediterranean, Mayo clinic, Volumetrics and weightwatchers. These are
diets which are substainable, diest which change your lifestyle and may
be taken for the rest of your life.
The Best Diet for weight

These are not necessarily the
diets which are the healthiest, indeed the Atkins diet gives extremely
good weight loss but is not substainable, contains far too much fat, too
few carbs and has questions over its safety. The Atkins comes out as the
most un-healthy diet of the top 20. This not to say you can not use it,
just be aware that it is not safe long term and it is thought
best for short term use, say 1 week on and 1 week off. This is indeed
how the Atkins diet is promoted in Dr. Atkin's book, it is not a life
style change, this diet is supposed to lose you lots of weight, short
term. You can then move onto another long term diet, again this is all
in the Dr. Atkins diet book.
As a long term diet,
weightwatchers really is very good. You are not asked to give up any
food at all. All foods are given points and you are allowed to have a
certain number of points each day. You may find you have 1700 points to
spend and you spend them as you wish. Basically a point is about 100
calories and all foods have points, so you eat whatever you want
but when you reach your point limit, you stop eating for that day,
really quite clever and simple. I have always
thought of the weight watchers as one of the best diets available and the
table below shows this, as the weight watchers comes in at number 6.
This really is a diet for life, which is what most people need, a
diet to make, a life style change.
